In a time where the video streams are broadcasted with high definition (HD), with a Dolby-E sound, less and less tolerance to errors are granted by the customers.  Video content analysis allows the operator  (transporting video content) to ensure that the broadcasting chain is error free, there is no unsynchronization happened and that the output signal is  compliant to the input stream.

Some systems like the Dimetis solutions are combining the validation of the output TS (synchronisation, correct rate, PIDs errors, programs analyse, tables integrity) and the quality of the video and audio transporting (freeze, black, no audio, …). The way of monitoring the results can only be done by decoding all the services and displaying in live.

Measurement to improve the quality is also part of the tools necessary to insure the best quality of service. Lip synchronisation is also a key valuable measurement tool for improving QoS ; Controlware proposes such a solution for analog, SD and HD streams.
